New from North Sails, their Ultimate Carbon booms to compliment their sails and masts have just been released.

The booms feature a completely New front end, which is of a very neat compact design and appears to articulate on a rubberised bush, which will have be designed to prevent wear of the carbon tube it's mounted on (a common problem with carbon booms). All booms are SDM / RDM friendly, due to the use of RDM shims. The rear end uses a very thin outhaul rope which is designed to be used with their sails Loop Loop Go clew block (as per the downhaul). The Race booms are fitted with an On the Fly adjustable outhaul system. 

Adjustment is by a two pin push clip mounted onto a floating barrel, to make alignment of the pins quick and simple. The grip diameter on the Ultimate Wave sizes is classed as 25mm, the X-Over 165cm is 26mm on the hand hold section (this boom has variations in the tube diameters) and the Race Sizes are both 27.5mm in the hand hold area.
