If one board was great for most South Coast sailing conditions, it was always said to be the Bic Astro Rock..  but now Ben Severne has brought another name to mind... The Dyno.  It really has been a board that works well in most sailing conditions, hence you will see a lot of them on the local beaches, whatever the weather. Chose the size for your weight and off you go!  Now in it's 3rd Generation, the Dyno has a little more Freewave in it than the MK1 and 2 vivid blue versions, which were almost 50/50 between Freewave and Freeride, which does give it a little more 'top end'. So, if you are looking for a one board solution, the Dyno is definitely one to consider. Severne say..

The Dyno is the go-to board for all-round windsurfing conditions. Multiple tuning options and innovative design solutions transform any day on the water into one to remember.

The incredible ease, control and versatility have given the Dyno a reputation as the ultimate all-rounder. Balanced volume distribution and a compact outline create a stable platform from which to progress. Whether you’re looking to master blasting control, make more gybes or venture into waves, the Dyno and its multiple configuration options will take you all the way.

Faster rocker lines and increased volume under foot make the Dyno super early planing and keep it charging through gusts, lulls and planing gybes. The compact size enables real use of all that speed – the Dyno is more than just capable in the air, it is a jumping machine. Aerial rotations, freestyle moves and straight up rocket air on demand.
Parallel rails are very effective at reducing drag and increasing speed, so it allows the addition of some manoeuvre enhancing tail kick. This makes the Dyno much more than just a bump & jump blasting board – it can drive through turns on the rail, making the most of any onshore or real world waves.
With the new outline and increased lift at the front, the Dyno becomes even more versatile. It’s able to handle steeper sections on waves without nose-diving and also catch less when hammering through nasty chop.

The DYNO uses BX Carbon reinforcements on nose, mast track, and rails. The DYNO construction is lighter and stiffer by using a combination of multi-axial Carbon and Glass lay-up

The DYNO HD has HD Glass and Wood reinforcements on heels, nose, and mast track surrounding. The DYNO HD has its rails wrapped in HD Glass to ensure strength and long term durability.

Please do not think that the HD version is a heavy board,  think more of a Wood board and that is what you get, it's under a kg heavier than the Carbon!
