Here comes Darkness my old friend, £30 wetuits and Amy brings wind but keeps Andalucia in Port!

Well, there goes Week 37 of 2025.. they don’t hang about do they. Probably due to the weather change having an effect or perhaps it’s the evenings drawing in at an alarming rate, as they always do at this time of year.  Shall we just get on with the weekend?

And it’s a rush ramble tonight, as I’m kicking it off rather late, due to my forgetfulness.. which was putting together the £30.00 wetsuit clear-out! We’ve been through the suits and have assembled a varied collection, which are now in Ye’ olde ‘Clearance Basket’, which sat at the front of the shop for years. Two are used but VGC, the others are all brand new that need to go or have a small fault but are still serviceable. Here’s a quick resume, to give you an idea...

Had a quick scan to see if anything watersports orientated is going on locally this weekend, apart from Storm Amy arriving (surely Attila would have been more apt..) and nothing that came to note.. but if you know of anything I should have mentioned, please do Comment or Message, as I can add it to tomorrows Saturday Morning Shake. Now for the weekends weather..

Saturday, will be a fun day, for those that like a bit of wind and don’t mind the odd drop of rain, as the wind will be West’Sou’West 13-26kt during the morning and then rising to 16-32kt for a while during the afternoon, before dropping back to 12 – 23kt during the evening. Top temp is 17°C and some say the rain will only be here during the morning.. others say all day. None of that is written in stone but the Tide will be High at 13.45hrs on a 5.9m, just when the wind is at its best!

Sunday, won’t be Sun-day, as the rain forecast is heavy man, from around 10am through to mid-afternoon, when it should ease. Wind will be Sou’Sou’East 11– 24kt during the morning, backing Southerly 16-31kt around lunchtime and then upping to a Sou’West 19-43kt affair by late afternoon. That will stay pretty constant overnight and then becoming a little more virulent around lunchtime on Monday, before Amy is finally spent by late evening and drifts off, to a quieter Tuesday. Tide on Sunday is High at 16.37hrs on a 5.4m. Do check the forecast Saturday eve, before making plans though, as it’s likely to change.

And that’s your lot. One thing I did miss out on but may get a second chance,  was getting over to see the Galeon Andalucia in Shoreham Harbour, which by all accounts was pretty amazing (picture from the Harbour Facebook page.. CLICK HERE).

Her departure has been delayed due to Amy, so she is now here until Tuesday.. Booking required.. Click Here!

Have a great weekend everybody.. please take care, watch out for others and most of all, apart from Checking Your Kit, do have fun.

Avanti !
