Last call for Summer, a New Score, Duotone and Starboard launching plus a Used Style!

Oh crikey, the last Friday eve of August which heralds the end of the Summer Hols 2024… that really has flown by! I guess Autumn will be hot on its heals, so best panic and make the most of the Weekend!  Tonight is truly a quick one, as we’ve been busy with people all day (making coffee, cleaning boards, that sort of thing..) and had no time to do any prep for tonight’s ramble. So, without further ado…

Ensis have launched their new Score Mk3 Wing this week. The main goal for the new Score has been to drastically reduce the weight of the wing but without losing Ensis reliability and to also increase the forward drive and overall performance of the wing, as a lot has been learnt from the Mk2 and their Limited range. You can see all of the updates on their website and the wings are expected to arrive UK mid to end September. Prices TBA and I will let you know, as soon as we know.

Duotone launch their new 2025 Kite, Wind and Wing models on September the 4th, so keep an eye on their website, as everything will be on there. https://www.duotonesports.com/en

Starboard, as I mentioned last week, will be launching part of their 2025 range on Sept. 2nd, so again, keep an eye on their website (the Ultra Kode is already on there)..

Used SUP Board just in.. we have a Fanatic Stylemaster 10’0” x 28” in the Bamboo construction. The board is a 2020 serial number which was purchased New towards the end of 2022 and it’s in good condition, due to having been used very little. The owner has two other SUP boards, which just recently he tends to use more and so the Stylemaster needs re-homing. It’s in nice condition with only a few marks /chips on the rails and the fins are also in very good con. The owner is looking for a very reasonable £750.00. It’s on our website https://www.surfladle.com/fanatic-stylemaster-bamboo-10-x-28-used

OK, time for the weekend weather and Tide times.

Saturday, the wind is expected to be Nor’East 16-23kts all day, so not much to get excited about at Shoreham, although it will depend upon how much Norh there is in the direction. Usual local venues are Pevensey or Pagham (Pevensey is best in my view) or head to the Kent coast. Rain showers were mentioned on this morning’s BBC forecast although nothing shown this evening. Tide is High at 10.43hrs on a 5.4m, so up early for River paddling.

Sunday, 1st of September,  the wind is becoming limp and cyclonic, as the High and the Lows try and make up their minds whose in charge. The Beeb mentioned this morning that thunder storms are likely during the afternoon but again there is nowt shown on the forecasts I’ve seen this evening.. so, check on Saturday eve. The Tide hits High at 11.27hrs on a 5.7m. Must be something to do and I guess a paddle will be most likely.

And that is it for this week, apart from mentioning that our Olympians are hard at it again in Paris and we appear to be doing quite well, so good luck to everyone in Team GB . Our Outrigger team are now back from Hawaii  and although they returned without medals, they have brought a whole new level of experience home to build upon.. things can only get better!

Have a lovely weekend,  one and all.
