Turbulence, Grateful and Happy, AI question time, Mad Dogs and just turn up, why don't you!
Here we are, at the end of another turbulent week of weather but as one customer said.. ‘We are being spoilt with all of this Wind and Sun’! Well, the spoiling is continuing today and it may possibly carry on over the next couple of days, which is usually referred to.. as the weekend!
Obviously, this weather is not to every bodies taste (I am getting a bit peeved with rain on both Tuesdays and Thursdays.. much worse inland than on the coast of course) but a friend always used to say “ you’ll get what your given and you’ll enjoy it for what it is “. That’s all well and good but if you are currently camping, you do have our sympathy. Anyhow, it’s a very quick affair this evening, as I have to be out of here and away, to catch up with ‘young’ friends. In truth they are old friends but they are not old, so why would I call them that.. and why is it always windy the evening that you have to go somewhere!
So, first up, a new App for the windsurfers out there. It’s an AI driven ‘ask me a question’ site, designed for use by all ages, sizes and experience level of windsurfer. Just enter your weight and your perception of your experience level and ask away, but try and word your questions carefully, to get the right response. Also check below the response, as it lists where and what it found, so a better answer may be found there. The site has been designed by a customer called Lew Perren and he contacted us initially to ask if we would try it and see what we thought. So, we have and now it would be nice if you could all give it a go and then ‘Rate it’ , using the Rate button found at the top left hand corner of the screen.. https://www.windsurfwizard.app/
Naish S26 Mad Dog SUP wave board.. 8’6” x 29” x 4 ¾” 121lt. RRP of £1699.00 but now just half of that, at £850.00. Earlier today there were four available from Naish in Holland, so not one to consider for too long. This is what Naish said about the board…
With maximum speed and turning ability, the Mad Dog is made for aggressive surfers who want to rip and push the limits. The Mad Dog offers next-level performance without sacrificing stability. With just the right rocker, it rides like a surfboard allowing hard turns with speed and power. This rocker is forgiving and requires less input to create speed, which is a huge performance benefit, especially in less powerful surf. Delivered with a quad fin set: 2 FCS 4.75 + 2 FCS 4.0. Can also be used as a tri fin or single fin. Rider Weight suggested to be below 90kg.
They are not on our site but if you want one, shout now and we will order it, if still available of course. Delivery would be by the end of next week.
A while back I mentioned a Get Together for all active or retired local Windys, Kite surfers and Wing Foilers, being organized by Gavin Baylis at Worthing Yacht Club on the 17th August, from 6.00pm on and said that I would update re. whether it was ticketed or just turn up. It’s just turn up!
And now, the weekend Weather and Tide times.
Saturday, 8-11kt Sou’West gets the dry, 22°C warm and reasonably sunny day off to a start, with the wind increasing to 10-24kts during the afternoon (say the Met, Guru says 14-17kt best). Tide is High at 15.30hrs, so the river is likely to be in full swing with wings and the sea state should be not too bad for launching kite and wind or foil throughout the day. A paddle up the river should be Ok as it’s a 5.6m tide, so enough water to possibly make Shermanbury, if you are fit.
Sunday, the winds swing right around, as the ‘Heat from the East’ starts to arrive. 5-14kt East’Sou’East during the morning and 6-16kt in the afternoon, so still something to play with for many of you. Temps climbing to 26°C, so we can expect Hi-Humidity as well… I am sure the breeze will be gratefully accepted by a lot of people. Monday, they say we will have 28°C but by Tuesday they drop back again, so cool lovers will be happy and the heat lovers will be sad. Tide is High at 15.56hrs on a 5.5m.
And that’s it for another week.. and aren't they flying past! Please forgive any typos or grammatical errors and I truly hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Should you need any toys, we are here, as usual, to help! Ta Ta
