West Witts On, Stone looks great, DTE delayed but that's fine, Ezzy bring three and the Clocks GO BACK!!
Oh no.. it’s the weekend where we have to put our clocks back and with the current temperatures.. turn the heating on! Oh well, it had to come..
The Wave event at Wittering has taken place today (it says it’s ‘On’) but trying to find out what’s been happening has not been easy, especially as the 2XS web cam has been down (I think Simon has turned it off! J ). I see Billy Short posted those sailors through to the final four on South Pavillions but has anyone found a link to any of today’s action? https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/the2xswaveclassic
James from Severne UK dropped in on Wednesday for a cuppa on his way West and whilst here showed me the all-new Stone wave board and it’s rather a stunner. So much so, that two young lads walking by (while I was taking the pics) stopped to say “wow, what a cool looking board”.. the colour is a bit different. As for the shape, it is no longer asymmetrical (hurrah) and it does have double concaves, so it should suit our coastal conditions . Stock is currently available in 84 - 88 – 92lt and at a very nice price of £2399.00. See more at https://www.severnesails.com/boards/stone/
Duotone DTE Electric Foil. The launch has been delayed due to a technical issue with a couple of components and well done to Duotone for the delay. It’s got to be right, so make sure it’s right. Not long to wait though, as a pre-launch teaser will go off with a bang on November 5th with a full product launch scheduled for November 26th. Something to add to your C’ Word List…
Ezzy sails have romped in and surprised us all… by updating two of their sails with new colours (The Wave and the Cheetah) which we were not expecting and they also have a new Wave sail arriving on the block, called the Zorro. Don’t know a huge amount this sail but it has been developed on Maui and Tenerife with a limited size range of 3.2m to 5.2m, so it could be coming in to replace the Taka, which does not compete with either the Wave or the Zeta markets. More to follow on this.. Pics on our Facebook page.. Click here
Shop Opening times.. we might be making changes in the next few weeks but we will post any changes on social media and Google, as best we can. The proposed shop sale is still ongoing, which is taking longer than we expected to sort out and that is down to us, not the prospective buyer, who is being incredibly patient. More on that, also to follow. Now for the weekend weather and tide times..
Saturday, is looking OK for Witterings but not for us. Guru say that the wind is West’Nor’West 14-21kt in the morning backing Nor’West 18-26kt during the afternoon. Met say backing Nor’West from the early hours and hitting 14-30kt during the afternoon. Weather appears to be sunny on both forecasts. Tide is High at 13.50hrs on a 5.9m . As I said, this should be good for Witterings wind wise but waves could be a problem.. we will see.
Sunday, Guru give it as a re-run of Saturday, strength wise, but have the direction as West’Sou’West in the morning backing almost West during the afternoon.. which will be dark by 5.30pm!! The Met pretty much agree with that but throw some rain in from around 3pm to 6pm. Tide is High at 13.18hrs (back to GMT) on a 5.7m, so it’s head West if you plan to sail in the afternoon.. LA?
And that’s it for another week. I hope yours went well, especially if your name is Lucas and were at the Witts today. Back in the morning for the final day of light’ish evenings and another awful beach vid! Have a great Friday night.
